And yes, the sketchbook doesn't have to look a certain way. A lined composition notebook from the corner store works just as well as anything fancy. The practice is in the doing, not the materials.
Although it was a tough experience, I was very touched seeing your pages (and photos) of Katy - she is magical indeed. It used to be that when I was stressed, the first thing to go was my art practice. Now, after many years of learning the hard way what stress can do to me, my sketchbook is what I turn to the moment things start to feel even slightly tricky. It keeps me on an even keel. Now I can't imagine life without it.
It's been a long time since I've seen one of your sketchbooks. I look forward to seeing more of them here.
Oh, And Sarah - Every post here is illustrated with my sketchbooks, but I will try to include more images in the longer pieces.
